Uptime, all the time. Web companies take pride in assuring their customers that their websites are running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in many countries around the world. And you should, too. A personal family web page wants to be as consistently visible as a large e-commerce site with hundreds of visitors. Frequent site crashes or numerous maintenance notifications that interrupt your site or others' interactions with your site are sure signs of substandard procedures and/or equipment.

Modern data centerns of today with automatic cooling systems, backup generators and fire suppression system hardly ever goes down. We have become very spoiled lately. But when all hell brakes loose you want to make sure you are fully covered and redeemed for your cost or lack of income. A 99,9% uptime guarantee simple means anything more than 10mins over an entire month. Hardly likely you will ever notice the short break. Some hosts trusts their systems completely have a very generous policy for downtime reimburstments.
Like JustHost for instance. If your site are not up more than 99.9% you get a 1 month for free hosting. Now, that's what I call a generous gesture. All other hosts stands in JustHost's shadow. A typical example is the standard 5% off that month fee. WTF? Excuse my language but 5% of $5 dollar is 25 cent. ONE QUARTER? That's not good enough. Shame on you GoDaddy!
